The Estelle Clifton Dancers in their dressing room get ready to perform in a show at the Hippodrome. Before the days of the big top, many towns had a dedicated circus building. The only one still going strong is the Hippodrome in Great Yarmouth built by showman George Gilbert in 1903. Houdini and Chaplin are once said to have wowed the crowd there.
